Batata Vada



Ingredients: 

  1. Potatoes : 4
  2. Onion: 1 big / 2 medium
  3. Green Chillies: 5
  4. Cilantro : 3 Tblsp
  5. Garlic: 4
  6. Salt: per taste
  7. Besan : 1 cup
  8. Red chilli powder : 1 tsp
  9. Salt: per taste
  10. Eno : 1/2 tsp (optional)
  11. Water: As required
  12. Oil: For frying 

Instructions:

  1. Boil potatoes, peel skin and mash .
  2. Make a paste of green chillies, cilantro, garlic by adding 1 tsp water.
  3. Chop onions.
  4. Mix chopped onions, mashed potatoes and chilli garlic paste. Add salt as required.
  5. In a bowl take besan, add red chilli powder, salt. Add water as required to make a runny batter. Add Eno to make the batter light. 
  6. Heat oil in a kadhai.
  7. Make small balls of potato- onion stuffing, dip in the besan batter and deep fry on mesium-high heat until golden brown . 
  8. Serve hot with garlic chutney n bread/ paav or with coconut chutney.
